Saturday Studio Workshop***
This event will take place between 11am and 4 to 5pm on Saturday 21st August in the Main Hall of the Talbot Community Centre (Talbot Institute) in Kenfig Hill.
Several models have said they are coming and Glyn is awaiting confirmations from others. One of teh models is a qualified make up artist (MUA) and is happy to help others.
There will be two studio setups, which can work simultaneously, so there will be plenty of opportunity and variety for everyone.
The intention is to start with a general familiarisation of the studio equipment in use and working with people, models in particular, followed by a brief discussion about what everyone would like from the event. This will be followed by a short break for lunch (please bring a few snacks to share), getting to know one another and setting up the required studio rigs. Glyn will be on hand throughout the day if anyone requires assistance. Tea and coffee will be available.
It promises to be a fun filled event and a terrific opportunity to try something different in a “managed” environment, but numbers are strictly limited, so places must be pre-booked.
Each attendee must be 18 or over (Glyn is awaiting CRB clearance) and requires a camera with manual capability, lens(es) covering most of the 35mm to 80mm range (wider and longer, if you have them) and a “standard” hot shoe flash mount; all other accessories are optional, but a lens hood is recommended. If anyone does not have such a camera, but they would like to take part, please contact Glyn and he may be able to loan you one for all or part of the event.
*** Please Note:
The only costs involved (so far) are for the hire of the hall, the models and Glyn are giving their time and services free, so the expected cost per attendee should be around £10 depending upon numbers, which is an extremely low cost for such an event. The photographers attending must also agree to provide copies of the photographs (digital preferred) they take, to the models involved for their respective portfolios (copyrighting allowed) and Glyn will act as intermediary.
Field Trips, visits and events in the close season are “Unofficial” for like-minded friends and are open to members and the public alike, which means they are not covered by the club's Public Liability Insurance, but at everyone's personal risk.

Thank you Glyn for arranging
Thank you Glyn for arranging this superb day.
8 club members attended the Talbot Institute on a wet miserable day,but the heat was on inside with 2 studio light set ups.
4 lovely models,Kelly,Kat,Lucy and Vanessa, came along to help us in our studies.I know they enjoyed themselves and I would like to thank them on behalf of the club for their time and effort.I do hope that we are able to provide them with some good quality images for their portfolio's (and our competitions).
I'm sure that all who attended learned a great deal about lighting and how to handle models.
Once again thank you,Glyn and Pam, for a great 'field trip'.
