PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION, MINE & QUARRY RELATED (CAMERA CLUB)The site in question is www.aditnow.co.uk which is primarily a meeting point and discussion forum for the mine exploration community but also exists to document our fragile and disappearing mining and quarrying heritage through photography. The site is frequented by a good number of keen photographers of both above and below ground relics. This is the first year we have run a photographic competition, and this year’s subject is "what we've left behind". We hope that running a competition will push forward the standard of relevant above and below ground photography and better document and preserve this important part of our industrial heritage. Something we are lucky to have in abundance in Wales. We've decided this year to focus mainly on above ground photography, in order that the competition is open to a wider audience by allowing entries from people who might have an interest in mining and quarrying history and who photograph surface remains but do not venture underground. To that end at least two of the (maximum) three submitted photographs must be above ground. One photograph may be an underground subject if the entrant so wishes. All photographs must be mine or quarry related and must be true to the subject. For full details, prize information, rules etc., please see this page: http://www.aditnow.co.uk/static/photocomp2007.aspx3. PHOTOGRAPHY IN CARMARTHENSHIREYou can enjoy a weekend with an excellent tutor who will take you through the basics of what to look for when photographing the wide landscape down to the fine details within the landscape. Composition, design, cropping and creativity will all be covered whilst traveling through an area often ignored by photographers as they pass through on their way to other beautiful areas of Wales. Rivers, hills, castles and waterfalls are all on the agenda.Contact This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it for further information.4.
