Swansea Camera Club International Exhibition
Swansea regrets to announce that it has had to end its International Exhibition.
Having to undertake the work during July and August it is extremely difficult to put a team together who can commit their time to the running of it.
This, with the cost of charges by FIAP and the steady decline in the value of the dollar, also brought into question the viability of the exhibition. It has therefore been decided not to proceed. Our place in the events calendar has now been taken up by Northern Counties Exhibition.
We would like to thank all those who have supported us during the last 4 years and will miss it just as much as I am sure you will.
Philip Davies, Chairman

THE JOHN MORGAN TROPHY

January is over and it is about time to start thinking about the John Morgan Trophy.  I know the date is the 16th of June and entries need not be in until the 2nd but there is quite a lot of work to do and unless divine inspiration is part of your stock in trade you will need
to start thinking shortly.  For a start you have to select, possibly even take!, your own starting image.  This needs to be one that can be printed as a 'fine art' image,  as a 'monochrome' image AND as a 'fantasia'  image.

We have tried to make it easier for you by judging (at half marks) the starting image because if you don't have a good image to start with it will be much more difficult to get three good derivatives.  What is more by using your own images some of them should be usable for other competitions.

Don't forget this year both individual and club entries are acceptable. SO why not have a look at the details on www.deanphotoclub.org.uk and start planning your club and personal entries NOW!  All details, examples. rules, entry form, map etc. are on the web site.

Peter Herbert (secretary for Dean PC)

PS   The actual Trophy is pretty distinctive and will make a good talking point in your club trophy cabinet!

PPS   It would be appreciated if you would let us know if you intend to enter - we might have to book a bigger hall!
